The alternatives the models name most are Apollo in 50 of 50 answers, Clay in 44 and Smartlead in 39. Artisan (34), ZoomInfo (16) and AiSDR (15) follow. The counts come from ten AI models answering five fixed founder questions in the 2026-09 edition.

The models know Instantly well and rarely lead with it. Its named-first gap is 80 points, the widest of the 20 products tracked. Read across the answers, Instantly is the sending tool in a stack, placed after the tool that finds the leads. Claude Sonnet 5 calls it “Best if your outbound is primarily cold email at volume.” Sonar Pro makes the same split, sending founders to Instantly when the priority is pure cold-email sending at scale.

Apollo leads every model in this category. GPT-5.6 Terra, Claude Sonnet 5 and Sonar Reasoning Pro each describe it as a contact database and sequencing in one tool. That puts it in front of Instantly in the stack rather than beside it. Sonar Reasoning Pro even suggests pairing Apollo with Instantly.ai when a startup needs stronger deliverability, so adding Apollo doesn’t have to mean dropping Instantly. For a founder who has to find leads before sending to them, Apollo covers the first job.

Artisan is the first AI SDR in the list, and the models split hard on it. Google’s two models and Sonar Pro include it every time. OpenAI’s models rarely do. When it appears, it appears early: its average position is ahead of Smartlead’s. Sonar Reasoning Pro describes Artisan (Ava) as an all-in-one AI outbound agent built to take over most SDR work for solo founders. Gemini 3.6 Flash carries the counter-view. What these counts cannot tell you
The counts measure presence in answers. They say nothing about product quality, deliverability, support or value. A product can be named in an answer that warns against it. Each model answered each question once, so the edition is one dated snapshot, and the same model can answer differently next month. Product names are matched as text, so an alias the matcher misses goes uncounted. The answers come through each model’s API, which can differ from the consumer chat app. The prompts are in English and ask about AI outbound tools for founders. None of them asks for Instantly alternatives. Prices quoted from the guides were not checked against the vendors’ own pricing pages.

Not a permanent one, according to Coffee’s guide, which says Instantly offers only a 14-day trial on paid plans.
