What Chroma is
Chroma is open-source search infrastructure for developers and organisations building AI search systems. It provides vector, full-text, regex and metadata search. It can run on Chroma Cloud or be deployed on an organisation’s own infrastructure.
Chroma supports sparse vector search, semantic similarity search, lexical search and filtering. It uses object storage with automatic query-aware data tiering and caching to manage search data and queries.
