The Anthropic models hold the sharpest disagreement. Claude Opus 5 names Qodo in all 5 answers and GitHub Copilot in 3. Claude and Claude Fable 5 each name Qodo in 4 and GitHub Copilot in 3. Qodo’s Anthropic share is Qodo 86.7%.
The OpenAI models are close. ChatGPT names both in every answer. GPT-5.6 Luna names each in 4, and GPT-5.6 Sol gives Qodo one more answer. Across the family the shares are Qodo 93.3% and GitHub Copilot 86.7%.
Google is where GitHub Copilot does best. Gemini names both in all 5 answers. Gemini 3.5 Flash names Qodo in 5 and GitHub Copilot in 4, which puts the family at Qodo 100% and GitHub Copilot 90%.
The Perplexity pair splits. Perplexity is the one model that names GitHub Copilot more, 4 answers against 3. Sonar Reasoning Pro goes the other way, 3 against 2, and its 2 of 5 is GitHub Copilot’s lowest count on the panel. Perplexity is also Qodo’s weakest family, at Qodo 60%.

It adds Codeium and runs its own timing tests, in which Copilot led on raw speed. It says Qodo excels most at generating tests. The post is dated well before this edition. Its free-tier details may have changed since.

How the sample was built
10 models x 5 fixed prompts = 50 recorded answers. Each model answered each question once, and every answer was recorded. The five questions, verbatim:

- “Which AI code review tool would you recommend to an engineering team in 2026?”
- “Compare the top AI code review tool options right now.”
- “I’m an engineering team and I need an AI code review tool. What should I use and why?”
- “Best AI code review tool for a fast-moving startup?”
The ten models come from four families. OpenAI supplies GPT-5.6 Sol, ChatGPT and GPT-5.6 Luna, for 15 answers. Anthropic supplies Claude Opus 5, Claude and Claude Fable 5, for 15. Google supplies Gemini and Gemini 3.5 Flash, for 10. Perplexity supplies Perplexity and Sonar Reasoning Pro, for 10.
An answer counts for GitHub Copilot when it names “GitHub Copilot”, “Copilot code review” or “Copilot”. It counts for Qodo when it names “Qodo”. The panel tracks 17 code review products, and 13 were named. The full method is on the method page. Each product’s record is at Qodo and GitHub Copilot.
What these counts cannot tell you
The counts measure how often AI answers name each product. They say nothing about which product reviews code better, costs less or suits your stack. Being named also differs from being recommended, since an answer can list a product only to warn against it.
The prompts ask about code review. GitHub Copilot is measured here as a code review tool, and its wider use as a coding assistant sits outside this panel. Each model answered each question once, so one answer can move a count. The figures are one dated snapshot from the September 2026 edition. Matching runs on product names, so a bare “Copilot” counts for GitHub Copilot. The answers came through each model’s API in English, and consumer chat apps can answer differently.
