Opus Clip vs Vizard (2026): What ChatGPT, Claude & Gemini Say

AI models named Opus Clip in 48 of 50 answers and Vizard in 32. The model-by-model split, pricing from captured pages, and when each product fits.

AI models name Opus Clip more often than Vizard. Opus Clip was named in 48 of 50 recorded answers and named first in 36. Vizard was named in 32 of 50 and named first in 3. Presence is closer than first place. Both appear in most answers, but Opus Clip opens far more of them. Ten models answered five buyer questions in September 2026. The counts show which product the answers name. They say nothing about which product clips better.

TL;DR

How often do AI models recommend Opus Clip and Vizard?

Opus Clip is named in more answers than Vizard and leads far more of them. Opus Clip ranks first of the 14 clipping tools the models named in this edition. Vizard ranks third. Opus Clip is also the category leader, so it doubles as the reference row.

Product Named Answer share Named first First share Average position Category rank
Opus Clip 48/50 Opus Clip 96% 36/50 Opus Clip 72% 1.52 1 of 14
Vizard 32/50 Vizard 64% 3/50 Vizard 6% 3.16 3 of 14

Answer share is the share of the 50 answers that named the product. Named first counts the answers where it appeared before any other tracked product.

The two products sit closest on presence and furthest apart on position. A buyer who asks an AI model about clipping tools will usually see both names. Opus Clip will usually head that list. Vizard’s average position of 3.16 puts it around third in the answers that include it.

The models cite Vizard’s own website more than Opus Clip’s. The host vizard.ai appears 53 times among the sources the answers cited. The host opus.pro appears 27 times. Citation counts reflect what each model’s API returned, and coverage varies by model. They show where the answers drew material from. They do not show which product the answer favoured.

Which models prefer Opus Clip, and which prefer Vizard?

Every model named Opus Clip at least as often as Vizard. Eight of the ten named Opus Clip more often. Claude Fable 5 and Sonar Pro named the two equally often. “Prefer” here means named in more of that model’s five answers. It is a count of presence.

Model Family Opus Clip Vizard
GPT-5.6 Sol OpenAI 5/5 4/5
GPT-5.6 Terra (ChatGPT) OpenAI 5/5 2/5
GPT-5.6 Luna OpenAI 5/5 2/5
Claude Opus 5 Anthropic 5/5 3/5
Claude Sonnet 5 Anthropic 4/5 1/5
Claude Fable 5 Anthropic 5/5 5/5
Gemini 3.6 Flash Google 5/5 4/5
Gemini 3.5 Flash Google 5/5 3/5
Sonar Pro Perplexity 4/5 4/5
Sonar Reasoning Pro Perplexity 5/5 4/5

The sharpest disagreement sits inside one family. Claude Sonnet 5 named Vizard in 1 of its 5 answers. Claude Fable 5 named it in all 5. Both named Opus Clip in at least 4 of 5, so the Anthropic split is entirely about Vizard.

OpenAI’s models lean hardest toward Opus Clip. Across their 15 answers the split is Opus Clip 100% against Vizard 53.3%. GPT-5.6 Terra, the panel’s ChatGPT model, named Vizard in 2 of 5. GPT-5.6 Sol is the outlier in its family at 4 of 5.

Perplexity is where Vizard runs closest. Across its 10 answers the split is Opus Clip 90% against Vizard 80%. Sonar Pro is also the only model whose most-named product is neither of the two. It named CapCut in all five of its answers.

The Google and Anthropic families sit between those poles. Google’s two Gemini models give Opus Clip 100% and Vizard 70%. Anthropic’s three Claude models give Opus Clip 93.3% and Vizard 60%.

For a buyer, the split matters more than the total. Research done in ChatGPT surfaces Opus Clip far more often than Vizard. Research done in Perplexity surfaces both names in most answers.

What do the answers say about each?

The answers describe Opus Clip as the automatic default and Vizard as the fuller publishing workflow. Five short extracts show the pattern.

Gemini 3.6 Flash on Opus Clip: “Opus Clip remains the industry benchmark for AI auto-clipping due to its accuracy in identifying hook-worthy moments”.

GPT-5.6 Sol, in the drawbacks column for Opus Clip: “More expensive per uploaded minute; AI selections still need review”.

Claude Fable 5 on the pair: “Vizard is stronger if you want a full workflow from clipping through publishing”.

Sonar Reasoning Pro on Vizard: “You’ll get the best results as a podcaster by using Vizard for automated clipping”.

Claude Opus 5 on the sources it found: “Vizard’s blog picks Vizard”.

The Claude models repeated that last warning. Several of their answers flagged that clipping vendors publish most of the ranked lists they retrieved. The answers carry both products’ pitches forward, along with a caution about who wrote the lists behind them.

How do Opus Clip and Vizard differ?

Opus Clip and Vizard split on entry price, free-plan limits and export ceiling. Both charge one credit per minute of uploaded video, according to Ssemble’s comparison.

Opus Clip sells Starter at $15 a month and Pro at $29 a month, with custom Business pricing. Vizard’s Creator plan costs $29 a month billed monthly, or roughly half that billed annually. Watermark removal starts on Opus Clip’s Starter plan. On Vizard it starts on Creator. Vizard’s own comparison page prices Vizard at $14.5 per 600 minutes and Opus Clip at $29 per 600 minutes. That table is marked as updated in April 2025.

The free plans differ in what they cap. Vizard’s free plan gives 60 upload minutes a month, with 720p watermarked exports and a 10-minute export cap. OpenClip calls Opus Clip’s free tier more limited. Ssemble’s table lists Opus Clip’s free plan at 60 minutes a month. The two pages disagree on Opus Clip’s free allowance, so check it with the vendor.

Output and developer access also split. Vizard exports in 4K on Creator and above. Opus Clip tops out at 1080p, with AI upscaling on Pro. Opus Clip offers its API on the custom Business plan. Vizard describes its API as fully self-serve.

The guides aim the two products at different buyers. OpenClip fits Opus Clip to creators who want clip scoring and the most established brand in the category. Ssemble places Vizard with teams that need collaboration and brand kits. Its table gives Vizard 20 seats with a brand kit and Opus Clip 2 seats on Pro.

Each vendor claims a large user base. Opus Clip claims more than 10 million users, according to ngram. Vizard’s own page says it is trusted by 10 million+ creators and businesses. Both are vendor claims.

The models name each product for different jobs. The recorded answers attach Opus Clip to automatic highlight selection and virality scoring. GPT-5.6 Luna labelled Vizard best for value and editing control. Opus Clip’s prices above come from third-party pages dated from March to September 2026.

When should you pick Opus Clip?

Pick Opus Clip if you want the product AI answers treat as the default, or a watermark-free paid plan at the lower monthly entry price.

When should you pick Vizard?

Pick Vizard if you want the larger free allowance, 4K export or self-serve API access, and you accept a product the models list as an option more often than they lead with it.

How this sits against the Opus Clip vs Vizard guides

Four captured pages compare these products, and a video-tool vendor publishes each of them. MEMETIK counts what AI answers name and ranks nothing for purchase.

Ssemble’s three-way comparison is written by Eric Lee, the company’s CEO and founder. It carries a disclaimer that Ssemble is its own product. It positions Opus Clip as having the most advanced AI and editing suite, at a premium. Its recommendation is to try Ssemble.

Vizard’s own page is a switching pitch aimed at Opus Clip users. It claims Vizard delivers clips for half the price of Opus.

OpenClip’s head-to-head states that OpenClip builds a competing tool. Its answer on which product is better depends on whether the buyer is paying. Its verdict ends by offering OpenClip as a third option.

ngram’s review of Vizard alternatives was updated on 1 September 2026. It lists ngram’s own product first. It names Opus Clip the strongest like-for-like for mining long recordings. Its FAQ says most reviewers give Opus Clip a slight edge on clip quality.

A Reddit r/podcasting thread also ranked for the query. It returned an access error at capture, so its content is not described.

Those guides compare features and prices, and each one sells a product. MEMETIK counts which names ten AI models produce, model by model. Two of the guides also feed those answers. The host ssemble.com appears 52 times among the sources the models cited, and ngram.com appears 25 times.

How the sample was built

10 models x 5 fixed prompts = 50 recorded answers. Each model received the same five questions, word for word:

The ten models span four families. OpenAI supplies 15 answers from GPT-5.6 Sol, GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-5.6 Luna. Anthropic supplies 15 from Claude Opus 5, Claude Sonnet 5 and Claude Fable 5. Google supplies 10 from Gemini 3.6 Flash and Gemini 3.5 Flash. Perplexity supplies 10 from Sonar Pro and Sonar Reasoning Pro. Every model ran with web search. The run is dated 2 September 2026 and belongs to the 2026-09 edition. The method sets out how answers are recorded and counted. The full short-form clipping record holds every answer and the per-model split for all 14 named tools.

What these counts cannot tell you

The counts measure presence in AI answers. They do not measure clip quality, support, reliability or value for money, and a named product is not always a recommended one. An answer can name a tool only to warn against it. Each model gave one answer per question, so a single model’s split rests on five answers. The figures are one dated snapshot from September 2026. Product names are matched as text aliases. Answers come from model APIs and can differ from the consumer chat apps. The prompts are in English, and most frame the buyer as a podcaster. Prices and plan limits come from vendor-published pages with a commercial interest in the result, so confirm them before you buy.

Frequently asked questions

Which video clipping platform is better than OpusClip?

AI answer counts cannot show which platform is better. They show which one the models name. In the September 2026 sample no clipping tool was named in more answers than Opus Clip. Sonar Pro is the one model that named another product more often. It named CapCut in all five of its answers. Vizard matched Opus Clip’s count on Claude Fable 5 and Sonar Pro.

What is a good alternative to Vizard AI?

Opus Clip is the product AI answers name most often in the clipping category, well ahead of Vizard. ngram’s review of Vizard alternatives names Opus Clip the strongest like-for-like for mining long recordings. The short-form clipping record lists all 14 tools the models named, with their counts.

Which AI clip maker is the best?

No count of AI answers can settle which clip maker is best. The count shows which product the models reach for. Opus Clip is the most-named product in every one of the four model families, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Perplexity.

Which is better, Nexus Clips or Opus Clips?

Nexus Clips does not appear in any of the 50 recorded answers, and none of the captured comparison pages covers it. Opus Clip, which the question calls Opus Clips, appears in 48 of them. The panel cannot compare the two on anything beyond that.

Why is Vizard named often but rarely first?

Most answers that include Vizard list another product ahead of it. Vizard’s named share runs 58 points above its first share. For Opus Clip the gap is 24 points. The models treat Vizard as a strong option to mention and Opus Clip as the one to open with.
