Lindy vs Zapier (2026): What ChatGPT, Claude & Gemini Say
Lindy is named in 33 of 50 AI answers, Zapier in 29. See which models lean to each, how their pricing models differ, and when each one fits.
AI models name Lindy more often than Zapier, but not by much. In 50 recorded answers, Lindy was named in 33 and Zapier in 29. Lindy was named first in 9 and Zapier in 6. The split by model matters more than the totals. The OpenAI models lean to Zapier. The Anthropic and Perplexity models lean to Lindy.
This page counts which product AI answers name. It does not judge which product is better.
TL;DR
- Lindy leads on every panel measure, and Zapier trails closely on each one. Treat the totals as close, not decisive.
- The model family you ask changes the answer. OpenAI models name Zapier 60% of the time against Lindy 33.3%. Anthropic models name Lindy 86.7% against Zapier 66.7%. Perplexity models name Lindy 90% against Zapier 40%.
- Zapier has the wider spread. All ten models name it at least once. Lindy is named by nine, and GPT-5.6 Terra, the panel’s ChatGPT slot, never names it.
- Choose by the job, not the count. Zapier’s own comparison frames Lindy as a teammate for individuals and small teams and Zapier as infrastructure a whole organisation builds on.
How often do AI models recommend Lindy and Zapier?
Lindy is named in more answers and placed first in more answers. Answer share is the share of the 50 answers that named a product. Named first counts the answers where it appeared before any other tracked product.
| Product | Named | Answer share | Named first | First share | Average position | Category rank |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lindy | 33/50 | Lindy 66% | 9/50 | Lindy 18% | 3.03 | 1st of 20 |
| Zapier | 29/50 | Zapier 58% | 6/50 | Zapier 12% | 3.17 | 3rd of 20 |
Lindy leads the whole AI agent builders index, so no separate reference row is needed. Zapier sits third. It ties n8n on 29 named answers, and n8n takes second place on more first mentions.
The two sit close on every measure. When either appears, it lands around third in the answer’s list. Both are named far more often than they are named first. Lindy’s gap between named share and first share is 48 points. Zapier’s is 46 points. The models treat both as shortlist names. Neither is the opening pick in most answers.
Which models prefer Lindy, and which prefer Zapier?
Five models name Lindy more often than Zapier. Two name Zapier more often. Three tie.
| Model | Family | Lindy | Zapier | Leans to |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GPT-5.6 Sol | OpenAI | 2/5 | 2/5 | Tie |
| GPT-5.6 Terra | OpenAI | 0/5 | 4/5 | Zapier |
| GPT-5.6 Luna | OpenAI | 3/5 | 3/5 | Tie |
| Claude Opus 5 | Anthropic | 5/5 | 3/5 | Lindy |
| Claude Sonnet 5 | Anthropic | 4/5 | 3/5 | Lindy |
| Claude Fable 5 | Anthropic | 4/5 | 4/5 | Tie |
| Gemini 3.6 Flash | 4/5 | 2/5 | Lindy | |
| Gemini 3.5 Flash | 2/5 | 4/5 | Zapier | |
| Sonar Pro | Perplexity | 4/5 | 1/5 | Lindy |
| Sonar Reasoning Pro | Perplexity | 5/5 | 3/5 | Lindy |
The sharpest split sits in ChatGPT’s slot. GPT-5.6 Terra named Zapier in 4 of 5 answers and Lindy in none. Zapier is that model’s most-named product overall, at Zapier 80%. On this panel, a buyer asking ChatGPT’s model about agent builders heard Zapier far more often than Lindy.
Perplexity runs the other way. Sonar Pro named Lindy in 4 of 5 answers and Zapier in 1. Sonar Reasoning Pro named Lindy in all five, at Lindy 100%.
Claude leans to Lindy. Claude Opus 5 named Lindy in every answer and Zapier in 3. Claude Sonnet 5 named Lindy in 4 and Zapier in 3. Claude Fable 5 is the one Anthropic model that names the two equally.
Gemini splits within its own family. Gemini 3.6 Flash leans to Lindy, 4 answers to 2. Gemini 3.5 Flash leans to Zapier by the same margin, and Zapier is its most-named product. At family level the two cancel out: Google models name Lindy 60% and Zapier 60%.
Two OpenAI models name a third product most. GPT-5.6 Sol names n8n most often, and GPT-5.6 Luna names Voiceflow most often. On both, Lindy and Zapier tie.
What do the answers say about each?
The answers frame Lindy around no-code speed and Zapier around integration reach. Five short extracts show the pattern.
GPT-5.6 Sol, answering the comparison question: “Lindy is my top recommendation for a small team that wants useful business agents without hiring engineers.” The same answer’s table gives Lindy’s main drawback as “Smaller integration ecosystem than Zapier”.
GPT-5.6 Terra, answering the question about the best platform for a startup: “Zapier’s large integration catalog is its decisive advantage for a small team.”
Claude Sonnet 5 placed the two side by side: “comparisons of top no-code AI agent builders often place Lindy alongside Zapier and Make”.
Claude Opus 5 warned about the sources behind these answers: “nearly every source here is a vendor blog ranking its own product first”. That warning matters for this pair. lindy.ai is one of the vendor-owned hosts the models cited, with 23 citations in the recorded answers. zapier.com does not appear among the top cited hosts.
How do Lindy and Zapier differ?
They differ on pricing model, on who they are built for and on what the models name them for. Every claim below comes from a captured page, and three of those pages are written by one of the two vendors.
Pricing model. Zapier’s comparison says Lindy has no free plan. Bland’s comparison also lists Lindy as trial only, with no free plan. Lindy’s own post, the oldest of the three, lists a free tier for Lindy. Zapier’s page describes Lindy’s paid plans as priced per user, each with a monthly credit allowance. Bland reports that G2 reviewers flag Lindy credits burning faster than expected.
Zapier prices on tasks instead. Zapier’s page says it bills completed tasks, so a failed step is not charged. It offers a free plan with a monthly task allowance. The captured pages quote different entry prices for both products, so no price is stated here. Check each vendor’s pricing page before you budget.
Who each is for. Lindy’s n8n comparison says Lindy is best for businesses that want to automate with AI and avoid coding. The same post puts Zapier at teams that need quick, ready-made automations. Bland names solo founders and RevOps leads as the users who gain most from Lindy.
How each works. Bland frames Zapier as reliability through strict structure and Lindy as flexibility through interpretation. Zapier’s page describes Lindy as an assistant that works in Slack, email and text. Zapier’s page says Zapier connects to far more apps than Lindy. Lindy’s Relay post also lists more integrations for Zapier than for Lindy. The two pages disagree on Lindy’s own count, and Lindy’s post gives the higher one.
What the models name each for. The recorded answers repeat the same split. Lindy is named for no-code business agents. Zapier is named for its integration catalogue.
When should you pick Lindy?
Pick Lindy when a small team wants agents built without code. That is the use case the panel asks about, and it is where the models name Lindy most.
Where Lindy leads in the counts:
- Named in 33 of 50 answers and first in 9, the top of the category on both.
- Claude Opus 5 and Sonar Reasoning Pro name it in every one of their answers.
- No Anthropic or Perplexity model names Zapier more often than Lindy.
Even Zapier’s own comparison concedes the fit. It calls Lindy a strong fit for individuals or small teams who want to experiment with an AI employee without building anything themselves.
Two counts cut against it. GPT-5.6 Terra never names it. OpenAI models name it in a third of their answers, Lindy (33.3% of OpenAI answers). See the Lindy vendor record for the full per-model line.
When should you pick Zapier?
Pick Zapier when your automations span many apps and you want a free plan to start. Both reasons come from the captured pages, and the counts back its breadth.
Where Zapier leads in the counts:
- Every one of the ten models names it at least once. Lindy misses one model entirely.
- The OpenAI family names it most, at Zapier 60%.
- GPT-5.6 Terra and Gemini 3.5 Flash both name it more often than any other product.
The free plan lets a team try it before paying. Zapier’s pricing does not charge per user, which Zapier’s page presents as the saving for teams. Lindy’s Relay comparison puts Zapier at users who need broad integrations and advanced workflow control.
The measured weakness is the first mention. Zapier is named first in 6 of 50 answers, behind Lindy and n8n. See the Zapier vendor record for its full per-model line.
How this sits against the Lindy vs Zapier guides
Four of the ranking comparison pages were read in full. Three are written by one of the two vendors. The fourth is written by a company that sells a different product.
Zapier’s comparison page. Zapier wrote it. It compares the two across implementation, integrations, ease of use, AI capabilities, security, pricing and reliability. It reports a hands-on test where Lindy replied far more slowly than Slack’s own Slackbot. Treat its pricing and speed claims as one vendor describing a rival.
Lindy’s Relay vs Zapier vs Lindy post. Lindy wrote it. Its table puts Lindy at teams that want AI agents for calling, email, operations and other business workflows. It is the one captured page that lists a free tier for Lindy.
Lindy’s n8n vs Zapier post. Lindy’s blog published it. Its contents include a section pitching Lindy as the alternative to both n8n and Zapier.
Bland’s comparison. Bland sells conversational voice AI and ends the page with a demo pitch for its own product. It argues that voice workflows fall outside what either Lindy or Zapier was built for.
All four compare features and prices. None reports what AI answers say. This page adds the other half: which product ten models name, how often, in what position and model by model.
How the sample was built
The sample is 10 models x 5 fixed prompts = 50 recorded answers, from the September 2026 edition. Each model answered each prompt once. The five questions, verbatim:
- What is the best platform to build AI agents without a big engineering team for a startup? Name specific products.
- Which platform to build AI agents without a big engineering team would you recommend to a startup in 2026?
- Compare the top platform to build AI agents without a big engineering team options right now.
- I’m a startup and I need a platform to build AI agents without a big engineering team. What should I use and why?
- Best platform to build AI agents without a big engineering team for customer support agents?
The OpenAI models are GPT-5.6 Sol, GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-5.6 Luna, 15 answers. The Anthropic models are Claude Opus 5, Claude Sonnet 5 and Claude Fable 5, 15 answers. The Google models are Gemini 3.6 Flash and Gemini 3.5 Flash, 10 answers. The Perplexity models are Sonar Pro and Sonar Reasoning Pro, 10 answers. An answer counts for Zapier when it names “Zapier” or “Zapier Agents”. The full procedure is on the method page.
What these counts cannot tell you
These counts measure presence in AI answers. They say nothing about product quality, uptime, support, pricing fairness or fit with your stack. Being named is not the same as being recommended, because an answer can name a product to warn against it. Each model answered each prompt once, so a single answer can move a per-model count. The sample is one dated snapshot, and models change. Matching is by name string. API answers can differ from what a consumer chat app shows. The prompts are in English. The prompts also ask about building AI agents, so Zapier is measured as an agent builder, not as general app-to-app automation.
Frequently asked questions
What is better than Zapier?
The panel does not measure better. It measures which products AI answers name. For building AI agents without an engineering team, the models named Lindy more often than Zapier, 33 answers to 29. n8n matched Zapier on 29 and was named first more often. Which one is better for you depends on the job, which the counts cannot settle.
Is Lindy AI any good?
The counts cannot judge quality. They show that AI models name Lindy often: 33 of 50 answers, the most in the AI agent builders category. Nine of ten models named it at least once. Bland reports a high G2 rating for Lindy, with cost as the most common complaint.
How much does Lindy AI cost?
Lindy sells per-user plans with a monthly credit allowance, according to Zapier’s comparison. Extra credits can be bought as top-ups. The captured pages disagree on the entry price and on whether a free tier exists, so check Lindy’s pricing page for the current figure.
What is the best AI automation platform?
No single platform leads with every model. In the AI agent builders category, Lindy is the most-named product overall. Across the ten models, four different products lead: Lindy, Zapier, n8n and Voiceflow. The answer you get depends on which model you ask.
Does ChatGPT recommend Lindy or Zapier?
In this panel, GPT-5.6 Terra fills the ChatGPT slot. It named Zapier in 4 of 5 answers and Lindy in none. The other two OpenAI models were even: GPT-5.6 Sol named each in 2 answers, and GPT-5.6 Luna named each in 3.
Can you use Lindy and Zapier together?
Yes. Zapier’s own page says the two solve different problems and suggests Lindy for day-to-day Slack, email and meeting work alongside Zapier for cross-app workflows. Bland’s comparison says most teams use both tools.
