## What Neon is

Neon provides Postgres with pgvector already installed. It is for teams and developers that want to store vectors and run vector search within a Postgres database.

Users enable pgvector with a SQL extension command, then store vectors in Postgres for search. Neon supports nearest-neighbour search through HNSW indexes, allowing searches across stored vectors without moving them to a separate vector database.
