## What Convex is

Convex is a TypeScript backend platform for people building applications, including those working with agents. It provides a database, functions, workflows, synchronisation, search and file storage.

It supports ACID transactions for concurrent writes and end-to-end type safety. Convex automatically caches and scales, while synchronising data in real time. It can also run model calls and background jobs with retries, backoff and parallelism.
